Job Summary: Responsible for set up and operation a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Ability to fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments, fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines. Ability to apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Observe and adhere to Jay Industrial Repair safety procedures
  • Maintain Jay Industrial Repair quality standards
  • Inspect parts to develop mechanical repair work-scope
  • Perform all aspects of mechanical inspection; Mic end-bells, Mic shafts, checking shaft runouts
  • Make necessary repairs to electric motor parts in manual lathes/drill press/mill.
  • Be familiar with UL standards for inspection and repairs of electric motors

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a machinist, skilled in mechanical inspection of AC/DC
  • Significant mechanical knowledge and/or experience
  • Highly motivated self-performer with good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Basic computer skills
